This summer, New York artist Kurt Perschke brought his celebrated art project RedBall to the UK. Co-produced by Torbay Council http://www.creativetorbay.com and The Dartington Hall Trust http://www.dartington.org , it arrived on the streets of the English Riviera in Torbay in June before touring to Plymouth, Exeter, Weymouth & Portland and London, finishing the tour at Dartington Hall and popping up in a total of 20 sites. RedBall UK engaged thousands of people on its tour of alleyways, underpasses, high streets, town squares, heritage sites and bridge arches across the country. Alongside the tour the RedBall UK education project worked with hundreds of young people and staff in 5 schools to raise the aspirations and achievements of Year 6 pupils. RedBall invades Taipei!! documented by filmmaker Tony Gaddis and set to some great music, this 6 min film installment is the most potent yet! The project was a real hit in Taipei and you just have to see a bit of what it was like. RedBall Project is a global art project by Kurt Perschke that exists as a series of temporary installations in a city over a few weeks. The first public intervention piece to take place throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the RedBall Project took place over 30 days this winter. With installations ranging from The Sheikh Zayed Bridge by Zaha Hadid to the Empty Quarter of the Western Region it was the most wide ranging project to date and the first in the Middle East. Tony Gaddis of Fountain Studio was on location for the entire time and created a unique look into place and culture.
